Simon Read Octet

Simon’s latest project is an octet made up of some of the finest players from Leeds and London. The group is made up of:

Ben Lowman – Alto Sax
Will Howard – Tenor Sax/Clarinet
Kevin Holbrough – Trombone
Michael De Souza – Guitar
Jamil Sheriff – Piano
Simon Read – Bass
Sam Gardner – Drums

Whilst studying at Leeds College of Music, Simon developed a passion for listening to and writing for a medium size ensemble. Taking influence from such bands as the Julian Argüelles Octet and the Dave Holland Octet, Simon decided to form his own group.
