My passion for 'jazz music,' stemmed from listening to 'Years Apart,' & 'Spirit Of Django,' by the artist Martin Taylor. The music which was written and arranged on those albums was beyond inspirational to me at the age of 10 & started an affection for gypsy jazz.

Whilst at secondary school, and college I was unable to find musicians with similar interests until finally, at university, I met the 'dream team.'  Since forming the band in 2011, my 'Django Project,' have performed at various venues and events, including: 7arts Center, Ilkley Jazz Festival & The Lescar in Sheffield to much acclaim, including from Martin Taylor himself.

"I really enjoyed the YouTube clip of you and your band playing Pure Imagination - sounded great."
Martin Taylor MBE. (in reference to Ben Lowman’s Django Project.)

Over the past few years, some members of the band have unfortunately moved to study & work elsewhere in the country. Despite this, other fantastic musicians have stepped in to fill their places. Current members of the band are:

Kate Peters - (Vocals),
Jonny Faull - (Soprano Sax),
Andy Cox - (Alto Sax),
Myself - (Tenor Sax),
Russ Henderson - (Baritone Sax),
Jamie Taylor - (Guitar),
Sam Dunn -  (Guitar),
Simon Read -  (Upright Bass) & Steve Hanley - (Drums).

Below is an older clip of my 'Django Project,' performing an arrangement of 'Pure Imagination,' as well as a sax soli I wrote for 'Secret Love.'
