Study with me in person or online.

I have been teaching for 10 years and have accumulated a wealth of experience, teaching in a variety of settings from 1 to 1 to ensemble sessions.

Post degree LCoM I studied a Preparing To Teach In The Lifelong Learning Sector (PTTLS) qualification alongside working with various other mentored and solo projects with Jazz North/ Live Music Now & North Yorkshire Music Action Zone (NYMAZ). This has helped me to keep up to date with current teaching standards and practices. I now regularly teach students at several schools, including Leeds Grammar School as well as Higher Education students at York St John University.

I'm comfortable teaching students of various ages and abilities ranging from absolute beginner to advanced students from 7 years old upwards.

In lessons a variety of topics can be covered in lessons, including.

  • Saxophone mechanics,
  • Music theory,
  • Sight reading,
  • Improvising from beginner to advanced,
  • Listening skills,
  • Aural skills,
  • Composition & arranging,
  • Ensemble skills.

If there is something specific you'd like to study which doesn't appear on the list above, please contact me directly as this list is not exhaustive.

If you'd like to discuss or have any questions about lessons, please contact me.
